Our Ramara initiative topic of Thursday meeting at Ramara Centre

Residents and community groups of Ramara Township are invited to attend an informative meeting about the Our Ramara initiative, on Thursday, September 16, 2004 at 6:30 p.m. for a 7 p.m. start. The meeting will be held at the Ramara Centre, 5482 Hwy 12 South, Ramara Township.
Ramara Township is a growing and thriving community, but has lacked a formal vehicle for communication. Among other local issues, this resulted in community groups hosting fundraising events on the same days.
This information gap was identified, and led to the formation of Our Ramara, an organization designed to unite and inform the people of Ramara, as well as visitors, about all the exciting events, activities and organizations that operate within the township. A great byproduct has been that community groups are now working together to share resources and ideas.
To help the communication process along, Our Ramara has come up with the idea of having a Ramara-wide festival to kick off the 2005 summer season. Community groups can take advantage of this festival as a fundraising opportunity, to promote their events and activities, and to recruit new volunteers.
By attending the meeting, groups and individuals can have input on how to make this event truly representative of Ramara, and are requested to bring their great ideas!
Anyone planning to attend, please contact chairperson Janet Banfield at 325-5776.
