Although it doesn't look like it, Spring is here! Plans for FunFest 2008 are underway. Mark June 7 on your calendars! We are actively seeking volunteers to assist with making this the best year yet. Events 2008
12:00 noon: Opening Ceremonies 12:00 - 6:00 p.m. Children's Activities: Treasure Island Inflatable, Ladder Climb, Gladiator Joust, Mini-Putt Entertainers: Craig Douglas, Comic Juggler, Zoo to You interactive animal adventure, Clown and Face-painting Talent Stage: all afternoon Vendors and Community displays Beer Garden/BBQ: by Brechin Legion/Lions all day Rock 95 Fun Team - music and prizes! 5:00 p.m. Fire Truck Pull - still time to book your team to compete! 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. NEW THIS YEAR! Guitar Hero contest, for ages 13 to 19. Compete at your own level! 8:00 - 12 midnight Family friendly dance featuring Dr. Krane
Talent Stage
Adrienne Davies, our Entertainment Committee chairperson, is looking for you - that is, if you have a talent that you would be willing to share for 15 minutes to 1/2 hour, on the Talent Stage running all afternoon at FunFest. Last year's talent included a variety of entertainment from a skipping team, to the Jubilee Chorale, to guitar and violin solos, to a martial arts demonstration. Ramara does have talent! Just a reminder that we are still accepting new/updated FREE listings for the online directory. The community controls the success of this directory by ensuring they provide us with current information about their business/organization. Please pass the word along to anyone you know who may not be listed in this directory. The more listings we have, the better we can serve the community of Ramara!
Finally, many thanks to the members of the Our Ramara Coalition. Your dedication and hard work as volunteers over the past 5 years has, and continues to, make a difference! We are a group of individuals who are interested in sharing information and resources, seeking funding for community projects and wanting to keep the community informed and included. We meet the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 9:30 a.m., and new members are welcome! The meetings change locations from time to time, so if you're interested in attending, please contact Janet Banfield, Our Ramara Chairperson at 325-5776.
